Dan Rose, Facebook's vice president of partnerships, will discuss the platform's relationship with news media companies. The company has been building products to help news companies (such as Instant Articles) and responded to the fake news crisis by involving fact-checkers to give users more information. Immediately prior to DLD, Facebook announced more changes to build products with news companies, invest in quality journalism through product development, and educate users about credible information. I will ask Rose about his vision of an ideal relationship between Facebook and news companies (and will ask journalists in a panel immediately before this the same question).
