After the Singapore launch of the book "DISRUPT. Filipina Women: Proud. Loud. Leading Without A Doubt", the LKY School had an exclusive interview with Dr Astrid S. Tuminez, one of the authors in the book to discuss further on gender equality.

In this exclusive interview, Astrid shares why this book has been compiled and created, and its significance to the Filipina women. She also shares what it takes to increase women at the leadership level, particularly in the public policy area, and further discusses on some of the gender inequality issues in the Philippines. Astrid believes men needs to be educated to understand the importance of gender equality, and how women leaders contributes to the economy and society. It is also important for men to lean in to support the move as gender equality has to be built with support from both gender.

Dr Astrid S. Tuminez is Regional Director, Legal and Corporate
Affairs (Southeast Asia) at Microsoft and is Adjunct Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. She is also one of the authors of the book "DISRUPT. Filipina Women: Proud. Loud. Leading Without A Doubt", and is a recipient of the Filipina Women's Network's 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World Award™.

This exclusive interview has been moderated by Dessy Septiane Sukendar, a Master in Public Policy Candidate in LKY School. She is also a member of "Gender and Policy" (Bridging GAP), an active student group in LKY School advocating in building gender equality for women.
