MILAN-- The true test of a young designer's talent can usually be measured by their second collection. Gaia Trussardi has certainly proven herself with her sophomore season at the helm of Trussardi, taking the venerable label in a very refreshing and youthful new direction. It's a winter wonderland in shades of glacial white, icy silver and the essential black, paired with vibrant electric blue. Outerwear and accessories were detailed in luxurious furs, glossy patent, quilting, and there was even a taste of zebra print calf-hair thrown into the mix. Dresses and skirts were primarily short and perfect for an evening out, be it at the discotheque or on the red carpet. One outstanding dress in particular, bedecked in metallic-blue paillette embroidery, was a definite hit. This winter season will be a fierce one for a new confident and young Trussardi woman.
