STOVE TOP COOKING - TADKA DAL

This is our third stove-top cooking video and this time we make a not very authentic Tadka Dal. It is basically fried spices added to a yellow split pea dal which we cooked all day on our stove. It is inspired by a dal we ate a lot in India and Nepal last year. It mainly uses store cupboard ingredients so is perfect for when you can't get to to shop to get fresh ingredients. We ate it with some chapatis, but is is also great with naan bread or rice.
