John: Aaron Stanford Wanda: Michelle Trachtenberg The old Lyrics: "You come to me with scars on your wrist You tell me this will be the last night feeling like this" Wanda is tired of living through hell and she knows the only way to stop it is to end it. Before she does she goes to the one person who seems to know what she's going through, Pyro. "I just came to say goodbye I didn't want you to see me cry, I'm fine But I know it's a lie." Wanda goes to find John and tell him what she wants to do, but she doesn't want him to think she's weak. She tells him it's the only way out and he tells her she's wrong. "This is the last night you'll spend alone Look me in the eyes so I know you know I'm everywhere you want me to be. The last night you'll spend alone, I'll wrap you in my arms and I won't let go, I'm everything you need me to be." John has had feelings for Wanda for months, and finally admits it. He tells her she has other choices because he wants to look out for her. "Your parents say everything is your fault But they don't know you like I know you they don't know you at all" Wanda's family has always blamed her and her powers for everything. John is the only one sees her as a person. "I'm so sick of when they say It's just a phase, you'll be o.k. you're fine But I know it's a lie." Everyone tells Wanda she'll get over the pain, and she's tired of everyone acting like they understand the pain she has been through. John knows that pain, and knows it's not something she can just get over. (Chorus) Scared of getting hurt again when she hears that John really cares about her, she rejects his affections and runs. "The last night away from me" Back at her own home she looks through the Romance Novel John wrote and realizes it's basically about her. Still frightened she attempts suicide before he can change her mind, but he knows her too well and runs to stop her. "The night is so long when everything's wrong If you give me your hand I will help you hold on Tonight, Tonight." Inside Wanda's mind she can't take it anymore and tries to finish it by banishing herself in her own mind, holding onto her John follows her into her mind, defeating the parts of her mind that hold her down and pulling her back. (Chorus) Waking up Wanda knows John risked his life to try to help her, and now realizes she loves him as much as he loves her. "I won't let you say goodbye, I'll be your reason why." Wanda safe John walks away, Wanda follows him and despite everything she has been through, she pushes those thoughts back. "The last night away from me, Away from me." After two long lives of hell and a long night of pain the two finally kiss.
