The Home Affairs Department has responded to the call by Alexandra residents following last week's devastating fire. 

Many residents lost their ID's and other important documents in the suspected arson attack.

Over 500 structures were destroyed, leaving hundreds of people homeless just weeks before Christmas. 

Government and aid organisations have been helping locals rebuild their lives.
