This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Kath Beedles has worked on a huge range of television productions in the UK including all of the major soap operas. Despite not having the typical "producer" personality she talks about how she overcame her shyness to achieve her aim of becoming a producer and what's she's learned along the way. Kathleen is a highly accomplished producer of stories with a basic instinct in understanding how to drive a narrative. She is an Executive Producer at Lime Pictures/Channel 4 in London and has been nominated as a Drama Producer for an Emmy, RTS and Bafta Award. To date Kathleen has worked on over 2500 episodes of continuing drama including all of the UK's major soap operas. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
