Textile research is carried out on behalf of John Lewis at Oxford Street, London.

The woman watches results from dripping machine. 



M/S woman trying on blouse, raises her arm. C/U showing cloth ripping. M/S man giving results to another girl on slip of paper.  He walks out of frame. Girl puts cloth in stretching machine. C/U stretching machine. C/U indicator needle stops pendulum and writes data in book. M/S woman sitting on chair for creasing test. C/U woman on chair looks at clock, gets up and shows back on dress all creased. Man holding up one large sock and one shrunken one.
