The Nature Conservancy is constructing an iron gate across the mouth of a cave in White County. Gates are usually erected to protect bat colonies. This gate is primarily to protect the cave's archeological resources and its walls, which are decorated with an abundance of prehistoric Indian paintings dating back to 700 to 1,400 AD.
