Christer Gunnarsson, who is a Professor at the Department of Economic History at Lunds University, has published plenty of books in economics and economic history and been involved in numerous research projects such as the acclaimed gapminder.org. In his latest book he tries to explain why economic growth is not the problem, but rather the solution for solving many of our sustainability issues, while at the same time debunking many of the popular myths regarding sustainability itself. Which is also what he tries to explain in his TEDxLund speech. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
