This is an adaptation (by Chonprakhan Janthareuang) of the epic Thai poem, Khun Chang Khun Phaen (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khun_Chang_Khun_Phaen). Chonprakhan Janthareuang is on the flute in the musical accompaniment in this video. He's a famous Thai actor, director, playwright, and drama instructor. I missed the first part of the play, so you're not seeing the whole thing here. Basically, there's a complicated love triangle, or quadrangle, and the king has something to do with it. If you really want to understand, read the Wikipedia article. This is a Thai drama company and they are travelling around the country doing this play. The acting is really excellent.
