Message 2 is a raw clip from the "Message in the Song" . The clip opens with Old Rit, the mother of Harriet Tubman, down by the river and wishing she was home (Africa). Rit introduces the ways of talking in code so that the Masters could not understand, which would prove to be helpful in Harriet's life to come. This scene was shot in Bucktown, MD.
