During her usual studies, Aoko stumbles across a large brown book she's never noticed before in the very back of one of the shelves. It's wrapped tightly in chains and glows a faint blue, but that doesn't stop the determined sorceress from opening it anyway. She uses her magic to pry off the chains and starts examining the book.

The second she opens the book, it tears away from her hands and begins to float in front of her, its pages flipping at an alarming rate. Thousands of small stars of various colors erupt from the book and slowly form a small funnel around the book and Aoko. She has no idea what to expect as the funnel seems to warp and distort everything inside and around it!

There's a sudden flash of light, and when it vanishes, Aoko finds herself no longer in her study, but in another dimension entirely, nothing but blobs of color as far as she could see. Confused, she also sees that the same type of stars that formed the funnel have grouped together in front of her and are starting to morph and combine. The result is a young girl dressed in clothing similar to that of a witch. Before Aoko can ask her what's going on however, the girl pulls out a card from her pocket and gives a menacing smile...

OH NOES THE TOOHOOES ARE INVADING

Yeah, this was an extremely long fight, but Marisa's not your average opponent.

Marisa is an insane character to fight against, not just because of her bullet hell nature (which doesn't help much either), but because when she's about to lose the match, she'll get back up, fully recover her health, and will almost immediately start doing huge, extremely damaging moves in a "last ditch effort" to take you down. She goes through this phase 5 times, each move more powerful than the last, and she rarely ever lets up.
There's one aspect she has that makes her not as impossible however: Her beam and star attacks do inflict chip damage, but when you have only a sliver of health left, they stop chip damaging you, making you able to block almost everything she throws at you without taking damage. This trait alone makes her easier to beat, but not by too much. The only thing that will still kill you when blocking is her broom charge attack.
As crazy as all that sounds, that's why she's one of my favorite characters to fight against. It's like really fighting a final boss (which is what she's supposed to be), with powerful attacks and different forms and all that good stuff. Dodging her lasers at the end can be a thrill.
I'm not sure if she's completely accurate or not since I've never played her source game, but accurate or not, Toma did an excellent job making her. Highly recommended for a challenge.

Near the end of the second round when she starts doing her Jesus Beam attack, for some reason I forget how to dodge and ended up getting blasted. Luckily she doesn't start her phases over.

It was pretty challenging to beat her with someone who can DODGE and HEAL. If you use a character who can't dodge, I don't think there's any possible way you could win unless they have like 10,000 health or high defense. If you can beat her with an average character who can't dodge, I tip my hat to you.
