River Kayaking: Animals in Nature, Without the Ticks!

Every trip down the Thornton River in northern VA brings surprises, of the animal variety. And the peacefulness of that three-hour trek is something people pay big bucks for...but it's all out there in that kayak, on the river...for FREE! And, the ticks can't get to you, which is a big bonus in my book. I've seen river otter, deer, ducks, geese, beaver, eagles, hawks, owls, and even had my path blocked by a herd of cows! I really do wish the world were as peaceful and happy as a sunny day on the river.
