A short introduction I'm using to try and get house-sitting opportunities as we travel Europe.

Strange to make it public right? Why would someone do something like that? Why not hide the video or make it private for just the one person it was made for? A few reasons:

1. It's a good example of the power of video. If you're applying for a job, an opportunity, or you're trying to get some business or partner with somebody, video is much more effective than just email and it will make you stand out. It's a "high-touch" move, which is what savvy online entrepreneurs call that extra layer of awesome-sauce and personal attention that helps them close big figure contracts and deals.

2. Anybody interested in publishing may be searching for stuff about the 2015 London Book Fair. It's a big deal. It's much more likely they'll search for it than search for my name. I could blog about it, but TONS of people and media and big sites will be blogging about it. My modest site will never show up in searches. But very few people, I'll wager, will be posting YouTube videos with "London Book Fair 2015" in the title. That means, when people search Google, this video will popup, probably on the first page of results, which will bring thousands of views - and some of those people, maybe even YOU, will click over to my blog about publishing (http://www.creativindie.com) and learn about all my awesome projects, like the castle I'm planning to buy to use as a writer's retreat (http://www.creativcastle.com).
