There's a long tradition in Williston ND (81 years!) of shutting down part of their city to have a huge parade full of marching bands, beauty queens looking like little princesses waving from fancy cars, oil vehicles, and candy...LOT'S of candy. More than Halloween. Not only that, they throw amazing items out at this 3-hour long parade: new hats and shirts and baseball gloves and nerf footballs and on it goes! Add to that tens of thousands of people lining the streets for hours, neighbors establishing connections, kids having fun, I think you will agree that Band Day is one of Williston, North Dakota's finest moments!
