Jim Mullowney is the Chief Executive Officer of Pharma-Cycle, a Middletown-based company he founded in 2009 to examine the chemicals used in chemotherapy treatments, and their impact on public health and the environment. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and over two decades of experience in the hazardous waste industry. He previously operated one of five licensed hazardous waste transfer facilities in New England and has witnessed major transformations in risk awareness, occupational safety standards, and federal regulations. He lives in Newport, RI, with his wife and daughter, and  For the last 10 years he’s worked with international experts in medicine, pharmacology, and epidemiology to raise awareness on the risks of cytotoxic chemicals.
