Marriage in the Bible is used as a illustration of the relationship between Christ and His church. Pastor Bohr explores Ephesians 5:25-27 and shows how Christ loved the church so much that He gave Himself for it, and how that kind of love can cause a response from His chosen beloved bride that allows Him to sanctify us and wash away every imperfection of sin in our lives, until we are clothed in His perfectly clean and white robe of righteousness and are ready for the wedding celebration in the kingdom of heaven. A woman responds to her husband's love by wanting to look and be her best for Him. 

Pastor Bohr also explains how the church is still dirty, why washing our lives both in the blood of Christ and in the water of the Holy Spirit by the Word of God are necessary to cleanse us and how one without the other is only half a gospel. Many Christians dwell on justification but say little about sanctification and the preparation needed for being fit for the wedding of the Lamb. The more we spend time nurturing our relationship with Jesus in His Word and in prayer, the more we will become one with Him, and the more we are like Him, the more praise and honor we will bring to Him by our lives. His love and attention for us brings us to Him as His reward.
Pastor Bohr discusses how too often many are not given the proper time, study and growth needed in preparing for the responsibilities of joining Christ's family and are baptized without really changing their past robes for new ones, and, in this way, sin is brought into the church and weakens it. We are Christ's bride and we are to be different from the world. The shaking is soon coming and it will reveal those who have lost their wedding garments, who have not appreciated what Jesus has done for them, and who have neglected to nurture their relationship with Him and receive that purifying power that we must have to make it through that terrible time. Our spiritual lives as the bride of Christ should be our top priority and we should give our all for the upbuilding of His church. 

What a high honor and calling we have, for: "Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God! We know that when He shall appear, we shall be like Him for we shall see Him as He is. Every man that has this hope purifies himself, even as He is pure" (1 John 3:1-3).
