I would like to start up a new segment here on SLR Lounge where we can all discuss and share our viewpoints on various subjects. We are going to call this segment the Weekly Thought. Now, I don't think all that much, so hopefully I have enough weekly thoughts to keep this going for more than just a month ;).

I have noticed a interesting trend recently. I don't know if it is new, but it certainly seems that way. It is the purist mentality of there is only 1 "RIGHT" way of doing something.

Perhaps it is in only shooting natural light, never post processing images, always using a light meter; whatever it is, I have heard them all.

So, in this video we will chat about about what I call "The Pitfalls of Absolutes" as well my theory of "Shooting with a Vision."
Now avoiding absolutes essentially means that I encourage everyone to use everything at your means to create the best work possible. While there is always a "wrong way" there are so many right ways as well.

However, I also think it is important to "Shoot With a Vision." Meaning, use every method and technique possible when shooting to get your image as close as possible in camera to what your final vision for the shot is. So, we will discuss both of these thoughts as they really go hand in hand.

After you watch the video, be sure to share your thoughts and insight as well.
