BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. -- Jurors returned a guilty verdict for Mack Glisson on Thursday, the man accused of shooting and killing his wife while their two daughters slept in a nearby room. Glisson, 37, was convicted of the first-degree murder of his wife Crystal, 34. Investigators say Glisson killed her in their home on Cross Anchor Road on May 2013. Glisson fled the scene and their children found their mother's body and called police. Authorities in McDowell County took Glisson into custody after a three-day manhunt. News 13 later learned Glisson was supposed to be in a mental health facility at the time of the shooting, but escaped. His mother, Nancy Glisson, previously told News 13 that her son is remorseful about his wife's killing. She says her son was diagnosed with bipolar P.T.S.D. and was on medication, but was no longer taking it. Glisson faces life in prison without parole in with this conviction.
