Always train under professional supervision** The 5,000 estimate is a very conservative one, probably close to 25% low, but we wanted to check in on the performance of the TacStrike Full Size Steel Target - "FatBoy". We have been using the FatBoy as our primary, and only, target for nearly seven months now (March 2015-September 2015) and it has been shot with a multitude of calibers including rifle, pistol, and shotgun. The steel plate, itself, has proven to be insanely resilient to everything we have pushed at it! The mounting brackets (4 lower, 2 upper) have taken damage both from shrapnel/spawling as well as direct hits, and a few brackets are beginning to wear significantly (we have actually broken 2 lower brackets almost entirely). This is by TacStrike's design, and the brackets are meant to be replaced as needed. Although we have this heavy wear occurring, the steel target has shown no signs of excessive deterioration. Perhaps the only notable "damage", or wear, to the steel plate is in the head. We purposefully shot almost over 50 rounds of .300 WinMag in the same spot of the head to test heavy abuse. The result is a very slight bend near the edge of the steel, but again, nothing significant. The beauty of the TacStrike Full Size Target is the ability to designate on side for pistol-caliber rounds, the other for rifle, as well as reverse the sides to maintain even wear and give the target significant life. We will soon be "flipping" side-designations to see how it behaves and continues to wear. Just like we have said before, this is THE BEST steel target we have every seen or used! I highly recommend investing in TacStrike targets for your shooting needs...they are worth their weight in gold!
