TVA-mandated dig unearths Knoxville history

Archaeologists with Tennessee Valley Archaeological Research are performing an in-depth dig near Market Square in downtown Knoxville. The assessment, spearheaded by Tennessee Valley Authority, is part of a required environmental review in regards to a proposed parking garage planned for the lot. Items unearthed include bottles, arrowheads, wallpaper chips and musket balls.
