In a press conference held on July 25th, former Vice President for university community and Chief Diversity Officer, Jabar Shumate, announced his departure from the University of Oklahoma was "involuntary" after he was given the choice to resign or be terminated. Shumate also announced he is considering his legal options including a discrimination suit against the university.
