This is a Douglas squirrel which is native to the Pacific northwest. He figured out how to get into our home this weekend and it was quite an adventure. We got him back out safely but he keeps coming around like nothing happened. He has been coming around for months now and has got more brave everyday. Tonight I wanted to see if I could get him to grab a raw peanut off my leg and sure enough he did and did this a few dozen times. We buy actual squirrel food including the peanuts from the store as people food would be unnacceptable.
