With most flying-foxes giving birth to a single baby between October and January, we don't see too many baby bats born in the middle of March! A victim of large aperture netting thrown over a small fig tree, Lily was particularly fortunate to not only survive her entrapment but to keep her pregnancy safe and carry her baby to term. Now the mum of a beautiful baby boy, little Master Leif will be raised by his mum before they are both released back to the wild once Lily's injuries have fully healed. At two days old, Master Leif is doing really well and he has been blessed with a very protective and loving mother who keeps him safely tucked up deep inside her wing pit.
