Just as crime and demonstrations ravage London, all Sadiq Khan our capital’s Mayor can talk about is stopping Brexit.

Not only are the numbers of knife and acid attack crimes rocketing in London, the mayor’s own police are now coming under attack.

So, what’s our esteemed London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, doing about it? Well, nothing, he’s too busy attacking Brexit.

He wants Labour’s next manifesto to say that Brexit will be abolished or at least that a second referendum will be held, because he wants the EU flag to fly over his mayoral office for years to come.

He also said that he was an ‘optimist’ regarding the chances of the UK ending up staying in the EU.

What he suggests for the Labour Party would be a massive U-Turn and would probably require a new leader too, as Jeremy Corbyn has stated that the UK is leaving the EU and that meant leaving the single market too.

Sadiq Khan also conveniently forgets that, whether he likes to acknowledge it or not, the Tories and Labour both went to the country on a Brexit platform - and they both attracted over 80 percent of the vote between them.

For me, the London mayor is so at odds with his own party’s policy on the UK leaving the EU, let alone the country’s view as a whole, that he should immediately cross the floor to the Lib Dems, then resign and call a mayoral election on his anti-Brexit stance. But he won’t.

As every day passes, these anti-British politicians who do not believe in our country’s ability to govern itself, edge a little further out from under their rocks to float their pro-EU ideas. What they don’t seem to hoist in is that by doing this it is their own lack of ability to operate without an EU umbrella that shines forth.

I, like many people, despise those that would see the UK flag always flown beneath another. I despise those that believe our laws, honed over centuries, should just be overturned to suit the needs of a foreign power. I despise those that think this mature country cannot produce people of sufficient calibre to run this country as a sovereign state. I despise people who say that we should just get used to violence because that’s part and parcel of living in a modern city. I despise the way of the Remainers, as that route leads to subservience and the eventual destruction of the UK as an entity.

Why on earth do these supposedly intelligent people want the UK to be subsumed into a system about which the former soviet statesman Mikhail Gorbachev said:

“The most puzzling development in politics during the last decade is the apparent determination of Western European leaders to re-create the Soviet Union in Western Europe.”

Then there’s the warning from Vladimir Bukovsky, who came to the UK after spending many years in Russian labour camps and psychiatric prisons for defending human rights. He said “I have lived your future, and it didn’t work!” I’ve put a link to his must see video in the description below.

As far as I’m concerned the Remain camp want to see the people of the UK dragged into an un-reformable modern version of the old USSR, or worse. I vehemently reject that and will do everything I can to prevent it coming about.

We have a bright and bold future ahead of us outside the EU, yes we’ll make mistakes along the way, but they will be our mistakes that we can correct and made by people we can hold to account. And that is surely the way to go.
