China and the U.S. will step up negotiations about additional tariffs

Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative Wang Shouwen has briefed the media on the talks between Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump. Wang said Washington has revoked the decision to raise existing 10 percent tariffs to 25 percent on 200 billion dollars of Chinese products from next year. This means no additional tariffs. The two sides have also agreed not to impose new tariffs on new products. For the current 25 percent tariffs, negotiations will be stepped up with the aim of canceling them.
