Video taken from Oval Beach in Saugatuck, MI, on the evening of May 20, 2012. For best view, please watch in full screen HD! :) My original intent was to view the beginning of the partial solar eclipse (approximately 40% coverage right at sunset). However, clouds and thunderstorms moved out over the lake around 7:00 PM and hung out until well after sunset. If you watch the water you can see the initial gust front from the thunderstorms move onshore just past 0:25. Sun peaks out under the cloud deck at 1:15 with distortion on the bottom of the disk due to the beginnings of the solar eclipse which was more clearly visible in the western part of the US. The light show starts immediately after sunset! Sound is "Esquimalt Harbour" and "Two Tears in a Bucket" by "Set Fire To Flames"
