This a very simple to use charcoal factory! Drop your wood logs inside a double chest, the machine will recognize and suck in only the wood, will turn everything to charcoal and put everything back inside the same chest!

Also it will warn you when it's out of coal and it will try to search for charcoal inside the chest to feed itself automatically when needed.

This design also presents my, work in progress, of a fast item elevator working with the newest (currently 1.5) version of Minecraft!

As a final advantage it's compact and easy to build four of them adjacent, so that you can have support for all four types of wood!
