Evan is intensifying as it passes the Samoan islands, and is expected to stall between Samoa and American Samoa before turning southwest, towards Fiji. Intensification is a given, and those on all the islands mentioned plus Tonga should be on alert with this early-season storm. Evan is likely to attain Category 3 or Category 4 intensity at the current rate, with a possible hurricane-force landfall in Fiji in 3-5 days time.
