The Northern Cape Education Department has appealed to protestors to allow pupils access to schools this morning, as they re-open for Term 3. The protests which started last Thursday have seen the arrest of over 200 people, who remain in custody. The ANC in the Northern Cape has meanwhile recommend that the Sol Plaatje municipality suspend its top two officials. A forensic investigation into the municpality's finances will also be instituted.
