UDOIT shows you have to replace a ceiling light fixture with a much newer looking fixture.

Considerations:
1) Become familiar with electricity
2) Follow all safety precautions, including but not limited to wearing eye protection, turning off the breaker that the light is on, and following safety guidelines when using a ladder or step stool.
3) If the fixture you are installing has a smaller footprint than the one that was installed you may have discoloration or faded paint or marks from the old fixture.  If the fixture you are installing is larger, you may not need to worry.
4) consult the instructions that were supplied with the light fixture so that you are familiar with the wiring connections, installation guides and any adapters that may be required for installation.
