Shocking revelation: Land commission paid Kshs. 1.5b to ‘wrong’ company as compensation

The National Land Commission paid 1.5 billion shillings in land compensation, to the wrong company. NLC transfered the money to Whispering Palms Estate Limited even though approval had been for payments to Afrison Export Import Ltd and Huelands Ltd. The money trail then shows that Whispering Palms Estate Limited transfered the amount to another account barely 30 minutes later. The money was part of a 3.3 billion shilling payment for the purchase of 13.8 acres for Ruaraka High School and Drive Inn Primary School. The revelations were made when NLC Chair Mohammed Swazuri and his team appeared before the Senate Public accounts and investment committee.
