In our hands today is the platinum Patek Philippe 5056P Annual Calendar. It is only 37mm and 11mm thick which allows the watch to be worn on a variety of wrists without being overbearing. The curve of the case and lugs slide easily into the curve of the bezel and domed crystal making it easy to wear. The watch is also quite compact, but does have impressive heft on the wrist due to the platinum material being used.

Patek Philippe also denotes that this piece is made from platinum by including a small diamond at 6 o'clock between the lugs. This diamond isn't overwhelming and is a special, unique, addition to complement the platinum being used. This practice came around in the late 1990's and is now a standard in Patek Philippe platinum watches. 

The dial is an exceptional piece with white gold Roman numerals and a white printed railroad style minute and seconds track. You'll notice that the Roman numeral "IV" is a traditional style rather than a watchmaker's style. 

Radiating out form the cannon pinon at the center is a beautiful sunburst dial. The grain of the sunburst really catches the light and creates depth and texture on the dial. This texturing really brings the watch to light.
