This episode is all about the role of the liver on hormone balance and how sugar directly impacts that function. In Chinese medicine, the liver is the root of our hormone balancing, especially for women. Sugar has a terrible effect on the liver and ultimately impacts the hormones. The liver helps balance hormones by detoxifying estrogen from the body. The accumulation of excess estrogens can cause cysts on our ovaries, our breasts, fibroids and perimenopause, pms and metabolic dysfunctions like pre diabetes and insulin resistance. Sugar can damage our liver by causing an increase in insulin levels that are stored by the liver. This storage turns into fatty liver tissue and can disrupt our hormone cycle and production of vitamin d. These are my two recommendations to help support your liver through liver detoxification: Dandelion & Milk Thistle- help detoxify the liver Coffee Enemas - delivery powerful detox of the liver and heal liver Looking at the liver is key to addressing some of the imbalances of your hormones and health concerns.
