By far the easiest and most boring battle so far. This was so painfully boring, I had to fight it at double speed to make it interesting enough to prevent me from falling asleep. Even then, it turned out over 11 minutes, so I had to speed it up further. Please don't watch more than 1 minute, unless you really hate yourself.

His defense increases every time you attack him, but his magic defense remains the same. With less than three characters, he will alternate between the earthquake attack and  regulal physical one, and all you can do is alternate between Water and Mid Tonic. If you heal just after one of his attacks, or if you get really lucky with the damage, you can use Water twice. If you want to play safe, you just alternate. That way, you can't lose unless you screw up.

So, this would have been harder with level 19 Ayla, as you have to revive Crono all the time to cast Lightning in order to reduce his defense. That means you also have to deal with the electric discharge every third time you cast Lightning.
