A group of Matatu operators is opposed to plans by the government to decongest the city by replacing the 14-seater matatus with buses. The Association of Matatu Saccos, says that the decision was made without consultation and the association will oppose it as it will lock out their members from business. The group spoke even as others raised concerns on the ownership of some of the companies contracted to operate the bus rapid transport system in the capital.
