Three Jubilee officials from West Pokot County have defected to KANU citing bad leadership by the party's county leaders. Led by Jubilee West Pokot County chairperson Elijah Powen Kapelo, Pokot South sub-county Jubilee chairperson Johnstone Mukelima and Kacheliba Youth League representative Enoch Naitale, the leaders vowed to campaign for KANU and ensure the independence party wins majority seats in the region. The leaders were received at Kacheliba by West Pokot Senator John Lonyangapuo who is seeking to unseat incumbent governor Simon Kachapin.
