ABOUT APARNA VENKATESH:  Aparna received a PhD in Translational Medicine (Immunology) on a scholarship from the University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy. Her PhD work focused on similarities and differences of innate immune responses, and in particular, dendritic cell activation. As a research scientist at the Molecular Engineering Laboratory in Singapore, she is working on a stem cell differentiation project to develop in vitro cellular models for neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.
