Doom Episode 1 played through on an arcade stick.

Control scheme:
Stick: forward backward, turn left and turn right
Button row 1: fire, strafe left, strafe right, weapon up
Button row 2: open, shotgun, run, weapon down
Note:
I am not sure about if the shotgun button option is the best option (this was just a mistake but I think I kind of like it), but I like all the other button assignments for sure.

Does anyone have a better time on digital joystick, digital gamepad or keyboard only? Just curious.
