http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com A refuge/gite usually has dorm rooms without bath or toilet and double rooms (with baths, toilets) available for walkers/hikers. Free wine is included with dinner and the Refuge Du Moure had a very lively group of hikers. Two Swiss, everyone else French and us token Americans. The conviviality of the 20 people staying here that night was contagious and we had an hilarious dinner. Almost every single person spoke perfect English and no one made fun of my terrible French.
