💥 Is learning to read music absolutely necessary for me to learn to play the piano? — No.

💥 If I don’t learn to read music, will that make me less of a musician? — No.

💥 Will music readers and traditional teachers say I’m ‘cheating’ if I don’t learn to read music, and look down on me for not doing it the ‘right way?’ YES they will, but they are close minded idiots.

🎹 I’m Shawn Cheek, and I’ve taught non-traditional piano lessons for almost 4 decades. I’ve played everything from Bach to Billy Joel and back again, and I will tell you that though learning to read music is a worthwhile and valuable skill to have, it is NOT the only way to learn, nor is it the BEST way to teach someone how to vamp, improvise, and solo like Elton John or Ray Charles. Many years ago, I invented my Whiteboard Easy Piano Lessons Method, and I have taught millions of people all around the world to play the piano with my video lessons.

🔥 With so many free piano lessons on youtube, why do people continue to pay me thousands of dollars a week to transcribe and teach their requests? For one, you will not find more accurate arrangements of the songs I’m hired to teach anywhere on the web. Period. I have perfect pitch and was born with an ear for hearing and understanding any piece of music I listen to. I say this not to brag, but as a testimony of the gift God gave me and how He intends me to use it: to teach people how to play the music they love, EXACTLY the way they hear it on the album, in a way that is manageable and doable for the average music lover.

🎹 For free, you can try 1,000 lesson videos at no charge on my website to see if my lessons work for you. webpianoteacher.com. All the part 1 videos are free. For a month membership, which you can cancel anytime, it’s only 20 bucks to have access to my entire freaking library that I’ve been building since 2007!

🔥 Do any of the other ‘famous’ youtube teachers offer a free consultation with anyone, even if that aren’t paying them any money? Well I do. Here is my personal email address, and to schedule a free zoom call with ME (Shawn himself, not a rep), to formulate a Personalized Practice Strategy designed for YOU personally to help you pick the right lessons, and learn how to practice to bring success, just ask bro — even if you are not a paying member. [email protected]

🎹 My lesson arrangements are the most accurate on the internet. I don’t dumb anything down, but do my very best to give you the most authentic sound that you can possibly get in a piano solo. Period. I don’t ’kind of get close,’ or do just enough to get by, but put 100% of my talent and ability to work to give you the absolutely humanly possible BEST.
