Japan summons China envoy over ships near disputed waters As Chinese vessels linger for a day near disputed isles, diplomatic tension rises between the two neighboor countries. Rich in fishing grounds and natural resources (namely rare earth elements), these isles are highly contested: on Wednesday, at 7.30 A.M., Chinese coastgard ships entered Japanese waters and still had to leave at 9 A.M. Thursday. Tension escalades as Japan unveils the acquisition of a 1.2 billion dollar worth battleships, the biggest since World War II.
