J-Magic, a company offering internet related services on mobile phones, now have "information search by mobile camera images" which is a service offered from their mobile social media site, eyenowa.

SAYL stands for "Search As You Like". It's a web service which was based on the concept of offering various search services not only through text but also by other means. The API (application programming interface ) enables cross media searches to be added onto EC (Electronic Commerce) and auction sites. This allows users to link to specific contents on the internet simply by taking a picture of something like a CD jacket in a magazine.

The SAYL API system allows registration of product image databases or a company can use the set provided by J-Magic. At present, J-Magic has a database of 50,000 images which are linked to books, CDs, DVDs and restaurants. The system also allows registering of any product image data to be used for the search service.
