I've loved the music of Jelly Roll Morton for most of my adult life and, many many years ago, bought the Library of Congress recordings, made in 1939 by Alan Lomax. Morton speaks about his life on these recordings, and I've used snippets in this mash-up. I put together a track with drum box, bass and piano, added the words of Jelly Roll, and then put in some synthesised alto sax and strings. All this was done about 10 years ago. I recently rediscovered this recording from my files of multi-tracked stuff and added some visuals for this video. The main chord sequence is taken from Duke Ellington's "Flaming Sword", and the background strings are playing "Just A Closer Walk With Thee". http://www,mjra.net/WillFly/
