What Is A Contract?
15:20:08  Tom & Ed at interview for summer job to raise money for college; "...not much money..." - agree to distribute breakfast cereal samples at $35 per week w/ sleezy-looking guy at advertising agency.  VO says that by nodding their heads they've agreed to an "oral contract" & gives main facets of a contract - 'mutual assent', 'competent parties', 'legal bargain', 'consideration'.  Boys look at notes for agreement on desk, agree, shake hands w/ employer.
15:22:44  Ed pulls up at curb in convertible; building w/ large billboard in background, traffic past, gets out & looks at used cars.  Salesman gives him purchase agreement to read - VO describes main parts of written contract - Ed signs before witness & shakes hands w/ salesman.  CUs of part of contract.
15:24:45  Tom at home showing father camera brochure & installment / instalment plan contract - father co-signs as Tom is under 21.
15:25:44  Tom & Ed in employer's office - told that another company has taken over delivery contract - SOF "I'd like to keep you on but I can't afford to".  
15:26:15  Ed at car lot trying to re-negotiate instalment plan, VO re fine print, defaulting on payments etc.  Flashback to boys agreeing to ten weeks work - oral contract.  Handshakes.  Looking at car.
15:27:43  SOF Boys call lawyer & agree to meet at advertising agency.
15:27:55  MOS Boys at employer's office w/ family lawyer gesturing.  CUs.  Questioning the termination of contract - employer calls his lawyer.  Title cards of points in film.
15:29:06  Man puts down telephone, look sheepish & lawyer shakes his hand & leaves.  Boys get their jobs back.  The End.
