This intimate coming-of-age drama revolves around the unpredictable life of a young girl living in a typical British suburb. Skunk (Eloise Laurence) is a friendless eleven-year-old living with her father Archie (Tim Roth) on an ordinary street, along with her au pair Kasia (Zana Marjanovic). One day Kasia splits from her boyfriend Mike (Cillian Murphy), who happens to be Skunk's favourite teacher. Meanwhile, those living on her road include disturbed young man Rick (Robert Emms), who is living with his parents, and aggressive Mr Oswald (Rory Kinnear). Skunk's life changes forever when Mr Oswald violently attacks Rick after one of his daughters makes a shocking allegation against him - exposing her to the troubling complexities of the adult world. As Skunk learns what growing up really means, she also gets her first boyfriend. This compassionate, sometimes shocking drama is wonderfully observant of day-to-day life with excellent performances from the multi-generational cast.
