What does a personal chef do? Let's talk to one! Lisa Adams, a personal chef based in NYC tells us what she does and shows us how to make one of her go-to easy recipes: her version of Lahmacun, a Turkish lamb pizza. Lisa has been a personal chef for over a decade! She's also an actress and voice-over artist ... and, of course, a food lover! I didn't have time to get into her whole back-story in the video, but her path is fantastic, and goes to show how life takes you on unexpected twists and turns. While she was going on auditions in the city she started babysitting/nannying children in Manhattan, which eventually led to helping those same parents with the cooking. After multiple recommendations, her personal chef career took off! She loves cooking, but she's never gotten any professional training. If you love cooking, you should consider this as a career option -- especially if you live in a big city like NYC. If you want to see more about Lisa, you can visit her blog http://www.allgoodthings.nyc/, or her YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/ohmykrishna Here is the Lamachun (Turkish Lamb Pizza) recipe, via Lisa: ready-made pizza or flatbread crust olive oil for brushing Ingredients for topping: 1 lb. ground lamb 1 small onion 2 cloves garlic 1 handful flat leaf parsley leaves 1 handful fresh mint leaves 1 medium tomato 1 jalapeño 1 tsp. aleppo pepper 1 tsp. paprika 1 tsp. sumac 1 tsp. za'atar salt and pepper lemon wedges for serving chopped parsley for garnish Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Brush the crusts or flatbread with olive oil and place on a cookie sheet. Pulse everything but the lamb in a food processor to make a paste. In a large bowl mix ground lamb and vegetable spice paste with your hands until incorporated. Spread the lamb mixture onto the oiled crusts in a thin layer and even layer. Bake 15- 20 minutes until the ends are crispy and the meat is browned. The middle will still be soft and pliable. Squeeze with lemon before serving. Garnish with more chopped parsley.
