VBS Bank workers handed notices of retrenchment

One-hundred-and-one workers at embattled VBS Bank have been handed notices of retrenchment at Thohoyandou in Limpopo, with only 26 employees being retained. VBS was placed under administration in March this year and suffered a massive further blow this week with the release of a damning SA Reserve Bank audit report. Spokesperson for bank officials' union SASBO, Lebo Selepe, says they're representing the workers, who are being retrenched under Section 189 of the Labour Relations Act: We now cross to our reporter Hitekani who is with one of the VBS Bank workers .
