BOM Australia via their Brisbane Tropical Cyclone Warning Centre indicates,  Tropical cyclone Owen continues its south-southeast track in the northern Coral Sea. Expected to turn west overnight into Tuesday morning.

Details of Tropical Cyclone Owen at 4:00 pm AEST:
Intensity: category 1, sustained winds near the centre of 85 kilometres per hour with wind gusts to 120 kilometres per hour. 
Location: within 55 kilometres of 15.9 degrees South, 155.4 degrees East , 580 kilometres east of Willis Island and 1030 kilometres east of Cairns . 
Movement: southeast at 8 kilometres per hour .

Hazards:
Tropical cyclone Owen has continued moving generally south-southeast through today. Owen has been showing some signs of gradual intensification, and this is expected to continue in the next 6 to 12 hours, with the system likely to reach Category 2 strength overnight and Tuesday morning.

Tropical cyclone Owen is expected to slow and turn westward later tonight or early Tuesday morning. It should begin to weaken during the day on Tuesday. The cyclone should be remain slow moving, and poses no immediate threat to the Queensland coast. It should remain well off the coast until it weakens later in the week.
